  • Treated like a leper!

Ii felt humiliated when I called to this surgery to collect a perscription for dermatoligocal cream. The receptionist made comments about my surname and then would not allow me to sign for reciept of the document saying that she would sign as collected for data protection reasons when clearly I could see that everyone else had signed it. The condition I had was not infectious but I left the surgery feeling like a leper! I will be changing this centre!

  • You can no longer book appointments by phone!

I hardly ever go to Drs. But now on medication, so have to from time to time. Phoned for an appointment this morning for a routine appointment in maybe a weeks time. Abruptly told that you have to book online. When I said I didn't have the details to do this, she said come in and I will print them off. Explained I was at work, she offered to email me the information. Very dismissive of helping me out at all. I am still waiting for the email to arrive. When I asked the reason for not taking phone appointments, she said it is the NHS. I mentioned Vicarage Fields closing, she said yes probably, too many patients and not enough doctors. They won't need receptionists soon. So rude.

  • Decline in quality of service

I don't attend the doctors that often but recalled the service as being pretty good in the past. However of the last 3 visits I have had to make only 1 went ahead without a problem. The other 2 didn't, the first being cancelled on the day after I had waited a week for the appointment. I was told I could rebook but the earliest available appointment was another 2 weeks away. I was only able to get something sooner after making it clear I was not happy and the Practice Manager became involved. My appointment today was for some breathing tests. I had taken a day off work to attend but when I arrived was told the appointment had been booked incorrectly and that I should have been prescribed a volumatic to go with my inhaler, which the doctor had failed to do. I was told they couldn't proceed with the appointment without the volumatic so I was given a prescription and walked to the chemist in Barking to get one on the basis I had been told I would be seen when I returned. Unfortunately the chemist didn't have any in stock so I when I returned to the surgery I explained this to the receptionist who said she would notify the nurse who would come out when she finished with her patient to book a new appointment for me. After a wait the patient who was with the nurse came out but instead of the nurse coming out to see me another patient was called in. After about 10 mins I spoke to reception who said she would see me after the patient came out. Which is what I had been told last time and never happened. It had now been an hour since my appointment had meant to have taken place and which wasn't clearly now not going to be going ahead. As stated I had taken a days leave to attend this appointment which the surgery had totally messed up. All I wanted by this point was to book a new appointment but rather than do this so I could leave, having already wasted an hour of my day, I was being made to wait while they saw other patients. By this point I had had enough and went home. I have lost all faith in this surgery as they do not seem to know what they are doing.

My 16 year old underwent a serious operation late last year. Once discharged he needed more painkillers to help him manage his pain. I spoke to someone wonderful at reception who told me she would put a request in with the Doctor and get back to me. Lo and behold that’s exactly what happened. She called me after a few hours and told me the medicine was at the pharmacy for me to collect. When he was taken poorly a few weeks later I called in and was given an appointment the same day. This is the kind of care I have become accustomed to receiving from this practice and long may it continue. They always put the patients needs and care first and that’s what makes them stand out from the crowd..

After taking my son to A&E following a bout of tonsillitis, I was surprised to receive a call from the practice to see how he was doing and whether he needed an appointment to see a Doctor for further checks. As it happens he was fine but I appreciated the time taken to follow up on his needs. I have been registered elsewhere before but can honestly say I’ve not received this level of care anywhere else. It is quite simply second to none.

There is always a friendly face on the other side of the reception desk which always makes things a little easier. The doctors are great too. Kind and compassionate and you are always treated with the utmost of respect. Am mostly seen on time but it’s nothing out of the ordinary to wait for 10 minutes or so. I would and already have recommended this practice to my friends and will continue to do so.

The reception staff at this surgery are rude, confrontational and extremely dismissive. I had been waiting for an appointment for nearly 2 weeks as I am suffering with labyrinthitis. I have had to visit a separate walk in centre twice as the medications was causing issues with my diabetes’s. Upon arriving for my appointment I was informed that the doctor was not available as he had to attend last minute training course. When asking for a new appointment I was informed to call back the following day. I explained that this was not acceptable only for the receptionist to ignore my comment and repeat that i had to call back in the morning. I once again stated that I wanted an appointment booking whilst I was there, to be informed that I could Attend at 11:50 the following day. Why do the staff at this surgery have to be obstructive and rude to everyone they talk too. I will be following up this review with a formal complaint at the surgery at also with PALS.

Astounded to have read some of the negative comments posted on here as during my experience as a patient at this practice for the last 30 years I have never encountered the problems mentioned. In my opinion the surgery has faced a wonderous transformation since the change of management, and I couldn’t be more pleased with my Doctor and the service of all of her staff.

I'm very angry with the treatment I received from this GP surgery today (19/12/2018) I'm currently pregnant (high risk) as I have 2 previous miscarrages. I booked an appointment to have my flu gab and few days later I called and booked another appointment to register my pregnancy and a referal I was then told by Receptionist/Admin that the Nurse will do both my referal and my flu gab the same day. I went for my appointment just to be told by the Nurse that she was not informed about having to do a referal for me. I was fuming as to why the receptionist lied to be just because she wanted to get rid of me so she can do something else. I asked to speak to the manager who was on leave and the Deputy manager was log on the system but she was nowhere to be found. The Nurse eventually did my referal which I appreciate a lot as she knows it needed to be done due to my previous miscarrages. I work for the NHS and this not the way to treat patient. I'll be taking this further with the NHS. I gave the Nurse 10 starts she was just amazing I wish everyone do their job just like her and empathise with Patience.

The service me and my family have received at this surgery is appalling. There are never any appointments available, as there are never any doctors. The receptionist are very rude when you call to book an appointments, they tell you to ring at 8 o’clock and when you do they tell you there are no appointments its because there are no doctors. they tell you to go online and book an appointment but there are never any appointments available ..staff are not considerate are all. They do not like to help patients when it is there job to do so. Most doctors this surgery are all locum so you have to explain your situations over and over again, so you never get to build a relationship with them. Already this surgery has had a bad reputation you think they would try and turn it around and provide a good service to its loyal patients who have stayed with them .I have been with this surgery for almost 20 years, i am now considering seriously of changing to another practice.

I'm a new patient at the practice but wanted to say how happy I am. I had a very much dreaded smear test this morning. My previous (and first) one was years ago in Paris and had been very painful and ended with me fainting in my doctor's office. But the lady who took care of me was very sensitive to my needs and made me comfortable all the way through. She chose smaller tools and was delicate but quick so the test only lasted a couple of minutes. I'm already a lot less nervous about my next test, so thank you!!

A nurse who I made a complaint about back in May 2018 spoke to me on my last appointment last month about what had happened and apologised for any behaviour that may have been wrong on her behalf towards me. I appreciate her speaking to me and acknowledging the fact that I was quite upset that day over the matter at hand. So thanks again to the nurse.

I saw a doctor today, I was very impressed with the way he explained everything to me, he treated me with the upmost respect, and I thought I could have asked him anything about my health without feeling a nuisance. I also thought he was a very good doctor, understanding the pain that I'm in, my "back pain" and COPD. I only wish he was a permanent member of staff. I can't recommend him enough. I have seen the doctor this morning. This is the first time of meeting the doctor. He was very professional, for example he involved me in all the decisions of my care. He is very approachable, very supportive, a good listener and comfortable to talk to. He was very respectiful and preserved my dignity, he gave me options of my care and further advice. I am requesting the surgery if I can kindly have him for my appointments.

I am very happy with the advice the doctor has given me today. He is very helpful and knowledgeable. He explained each and everything in detail about my health issue. I would give him 5 star for his service and would like to see him again as I am very satisfied with the service he provided. I am very happy with the guidance he has provided me. I am suffering this problem from many years and he is the only doctor who has given me proper explanation and guidance regarding my issue. Thank you very much!
