Join up or miss out - Launch countdown to business

Time is running out for local businesses to become part of the one of the south's most comprehensive and innovative business directories featuring a unique customer feedback facility.

The cut-off date for advertisers to get on to the disc has been set at 28th February 2007. Businesses in the Portsmouth area are being urged to act quickly if they want to join this new and exciting initiative.

Managing director and The Disc Directory's founding member John Pemberton said, "The countdown is on. With over 4,000 companies already registered, local businesses cannot afford to miss out."

When The Disc Directory is launched at the end of February, it will be delivered free to more than 260,000 homes in the PO1-PO17 area. Potential customers can search for local suppliers on the website, which is updated daily, or by using the innovative business card-shaped CD-rom. And, unlike most business listing services, The Disc Directory gives the consumer a voice too.

"The unique ‘Word of Mouth' customer feedback facility stands to benefit both the customer and the supplier. It means good work is acknowledged and the better the feedback, the higher the supplier is ranked in the directory. And for potential customers, being able to review the level of service of a particular business and what other customers have said, gives peace of mind and added assurance," said John.

There are more than 1500 business categories in The Disc Directory and each category has six top spots. This guarantees that companies listed in these positions will be seen first every time a search is made under that category. Additional benefits range from website, email link and locator map, depending on the spot taken.

"We've kept this simple. The pricing structure is clear and covers a 12-month period with no hidden extras. From a basic listing to an exclusive sponsored advert, there's a level for every size and type of business."

"Although companies can pay for an advert listing, the customer rating is completely independent. The only way a company can rank highly in the feedback section is through genuine customer responses and businesses should encourage them to rate their service, so potential new customers can discover how great their business is," added John.
